Our Mission

Many international cultures place heavy emphasis on STEM related activities and passions. And while STEM is extremely valuable to society, this pressure on students to pursue only STEM related goals means that there is a lack of opportunity for students to uncover their potential in creative writing.

Our mission is to bring the language arts to these cultures, starting with West Africa, by partnering with organizations that are creating summer workshops to allow students the space to tap into their hidden creative side.

Giving all students the opportunity to be creative.

What We’re Doing

We use all profits to donate to the following organizations, which are running workshops and seminars for students to explore creative writing and reading.

Higher Test Scores

The result of a study on high school students by Jennifer Waring was that “students who were subjected to the increase in writing and writing instruction in their language arts class scored higher on standardized test than those students from the previous year who did not received the treatment.”

Emotional Regulation

According to a research paper by Gabriele Travagin, Davide Margola, and Tracey A. Revenson, expressive writing can result in the “enhancement of emotional regulation processes” in the mind of an adolescent. This can result in less impulsive decision-making and a more thoughtful mindset, which can help with all facets of life.

Collaborative Skills

Based on an article by the Center for Professional Education of Teachers, writing collaboratively improved students’ pride in their work and in turn the quality of the work itself overall.
